Job Title: Interim Financial Controller
Location: Newport
Rate: £350-£450 per day (inside IR35)
Contract Duration: 4-6 Months
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to ensure the effective and efficient management of financial processes, reporting, and governance across their group of companies during a critical period of transition. This is a critical role that involves identifying risks, opportunities, and providing strategic recommendations to support business growth and stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Lead the finance team to meet deadlines and workload demands, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Reporting & Analysis: Ensure accurate and timely reporting of monthly and annual financial results, alongside delivering both historical and forward-looking analysis.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement of financial processes, ensuring all data supports strategic decision-making.
- Governance & Compliance: Manage statutory accounts, returns, and tax pack preparation, while liaising with external advisors and coordinating the audit process.
- Strategic Support: Provide decision-support for bids, new strategies, and business development through business case development, modeling, and due diligence.
- Reconciliation & Review: Reconcile monthly revenue, cash, and balance sheets, and approve reconciliations prepared by the finance team.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller with a strong background in financial governance and reporting.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
