LOC and Wayleaves Officer Field-based Shropshire

As our LoC and Wayleaves Officer (Field Based), you will lead the effort to secure Wayleaves and necessary consents, reducing premises impacted by Wayleave constraints. Your can-do attitude and experience will support the business in its corporate objectives to provide fast and reliable fibre to everyone.

Description

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, negotiate and complete Wayleave agreements and other consents agreements in respect to FTTP Fibre/Civils/Telecommunications installations.
  • Investigate the Land Registry, planning authority and utility company websites and other information sources to establish land or property ownership and route feasibility.
  • Oversee the payment of compensation, professional fees, and other costs associated with Wayleave acquisition.
  • Communication activities on the ground between the Wayleaves Team and landowners, attend meetings and oversee prompt responses to queries.
  • Review all landowner crop loss and disturbance claims in conjunction with the Land Consent and Wayleave Manager.
  • Working closely with the survey team to request and book surveys.
  • Actively maintain excellent relationships with landowners, agents, government departments and other external bodies.
  • Highlighting priority Wayleaves that will have a direct impact on deliverables for the team.

Profile

Desirable

  • Minimum 5 years in a Telecommunications environment.
  • Understanding of rural landscape and community culture
  • Conversant with relevant legislation including The Electronic Communications Code as set out in Schedule 3A of the Communications Act 2003.
  • Proven experience working within delivery timelines, along with the confidence to address and challenge any process delays.

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years Wayleave Experience
  • The ability to read and/or understand network designs.
  • Full driving license
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Good logical mind and ability to constructively analyse information and identify clear path forward.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external Stakeholders
  • Efficient in Microsoft packages and have working knowledge of GIS systems.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and a tenacious approach to following up on enquiries.
