Site Manager

- Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
We are seeking a dedicated Site Manager to maintain our college premises, ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment for all. The role involves a variety of responsibilities from routine maintenance to overseeing development projects, promoting health and safety, and supervising external contractors.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain clean and secure college premises, including buildings and grounds.
- Perform handyperson activities, routine maintenance, refurbishment, porterage, and minor repairs.
- Oversee contract cleaning arrangements and ensure the college is well-maintained.
- Promote health and safety, conducting regular checks and ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Supervise external contractors, ensuring safe working practices and quality of work.
- Act as the main key holder, managing the security of the college premises.
- Respond to emergencies, including out-of-hours call-outs, and maintain security systems.
- Delegate tasks to staff, manage team performance, and ensure adequate training is provided.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in site management, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Ability to carry out small repairs and DIY projects, with a hands-on approach to maintenance.
- Experience in supervising staff and managing contractors.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all college staff.
- Flexibility to respond to out-of-hours emergencies and participate in training as required.
