AWE's Nuclear Threat Reduction (NTR) team is currently recruiting for an Operations Specialist to support the delivery, maintenance and assurance of operational response capability.

Salary: £36,640 - £49,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Within this role, you will be required to complete specific operational planning, capability management and assurance tasks, including:
- Leading aspects of operational response weekly and annual routine
- Supporting the maintenance of responder competence
- Supporting the assurance of response capability
- Working with other teams within NTR Operations Group
- Operational assessment and analysis
- Options studies for operational capability
- Preparing, issuing and maintaining plans for operational response, capability management, and exercise and assurance
- Coordination and configuration of specialist response assets in support of national contingency operations
- Analysis, development, design and delivery of training for NTR operational responders, NTR staff and end users
- Procurement, configuration and through life management of operational equipment and other assets
- Planning, delivering and reporting on exercises and associated assurance activities
- Capturing and recording lessons and gaps identified and coordinating action plans
Knowledge and experience of the following would also be highly desirable:
- Military or police CBRNE operations
- CBRNE response unit training and assurance
- CBRN detection, identification and monitoring equipment
- Inter-agency working
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role
