Marketing Manager - Account Based Marketing

Posted by Buckden Partners Limited.

We are seeking a Marketing Manager with strong account-based marketing (ABM) experience to join our client's specialised banking team. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of a key account-based marketing strategy focused on Trade Unions, which represent some of the bank's largest clients.

This role will begin as a 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC), with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent, though this is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design, and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy tailored to Trade Unions, who are both key shareholders and major clients of the bank.
  • Lead ABM efforts, ensuring that all marketing initiatives are customised and relevant to the specific needs of each Trade Union.
  • Foster long-standing relationships with Trade Unions, with a focus on maintaining continuity in communications when union representatives, such as treasurers, change roles.
  • Collaborate with Trade Unions to enhance communication channels, ensuring marketing efforts are responsive and aligned with their needs.
  • Drive segmented, personalised marketing efforts rather than broad outreach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Trade Unions and key stakeholders on behalf of the marketing department.
  • Regularly visit Trade Unions (primarily based in London) to gather insights on their use of the bank's platform, identify areas for improvement, and build relationships with new representatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in B2B marketing, particularly with account-based marketing or highly tailored marketing strategies.
  • Strong account management skills and experience building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Experience in broker marketing or third-party B2B marketing.
  • Prior experience working with Trade Unions or within the financial services sector, particularly with brokers, is highly preferred.

Priority Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of Trade Unions and their operations.
  • Expertise in account-based marketing, particularly within financial services.
