Our client is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Officer to join their Property and Facilities Management team. This crucial role involves providing an effective and customer-focused Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance service for public buildings in the Lochaber area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise works and perform a Clerk of Works function for Capital, Planned, and Cyclical programmes.
- Assist in developing the Asset Register and preparing maintenance schedules.
- Specify, tender, and project manage small programmes of work within a regulatory framework.
- Provide support and professional guidance to ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
- Respond to repair requests and manage all aspects of analysis, specification, procurement, and repair.
- Liaise with client representatives to ensure a customer-focused service and secure funding for improvement works.
- Undertake property surveys to record the physical condition and statutory compliance of buildings.
Essential Attributes:
- Recognised trade apprenticeship with a minimum of 5 years as a tradesman and 3 years in a supervisory role, or relevant experience in property maintenance management or building services inspection.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety, CDM, and other relevant construction legislation.
- Experience in report writing and general computer competence in e-mail, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
- ONC/HNC/SVQ 3 in an appropriate discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
- Clean driving licence and the ability to work unsupervised on your own initiative.
- Team player with the ability to relate to all levels of customers, staff, and elected members.
