Assistant Management Accountant

We're delighted to be partnering with a leading social housing provider based in Buckinghamshire, who are currently recruiting for Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on an interim basis for up to three months (potential for extension).

What's on offer:
The role is 37 hours per week with flexible working and with an excellent hybrid working set up. The daily rate is negotiable dependant on experience.

The successful candidate will be AAT or part qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA) and have experience using the SUN financial system.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Preparing high quality accurate management accounts and performance management information, including analysis of purchase orders and commitments, to agreed deadlines. Assist in the preparation of forecasts and budgets
  • Assisting with all aspects of management accounting and reporting, including statutory accounting, budgetary control, performance management data and, if required, returns to the Regulator.
  • Preparing accruals/prepayments and other correcting journals as required and to review and check the validity of coding.
  • Working in n conjunction with departmental budget holders, ensuring that purchase order commitments remaining on the finance system are current
  • Actively supporting and advising budget holders of the corporate services teams in the preparation and development of forecasts, budgets and management information including use of appropriate financial systems
  • Maintaining and updating non-property fixed asset register including calculating and posting of monthly deprecation

Experience required:

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA / CIMA
  • Experience with book keeping, accruals, prepayments

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • A good understanding of financial analysis
  • Ability to communicate with the senior leadership team
  • A good understanding of the SUN financial system
  • Experience working in the social housing sector - desirable
