We are seeking a compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our 5 bed LD team in providing a safe, nurturing environment for young people in care. You will play a key role in supporting their physical, emotional, and social needs, promoting positive outcomes, and ensuring the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Safe, Supportive Care: Ensure the physical, health, and social needs of young people are met in a secure, welcoming environment. Support less experienced staff and foster effective teamwork.
- Promote Positive Life Outcomes: Contribute to an enabling culture that helps young people reach their full potential, supporting their educational and social development.
- Safeguarding and Risk Management: Identify and manage safeguarding concerns, ensuring effective risk management and appropriate action is taken.
- Develop and Review Care Plans: Work with young people, families, and professionals to develop and review individual care plans that meet each young person's needs.
- Educational Support: Maximise educational opportunities for young people, liaising with schools and supporting their academic progress.
- Build Positive Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with young people, families, and external agencies, fostering a positive, supportive environment.
- Team Support and Professional Development: Mentor less experienced staff and contribute to team assessments. Participate in ongoing training to enhance professional skills.
- Equality and Inclusion: Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, respecting the unique cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds of each young person.

Shift Patterns:
- Early Shift: 7:00am - 2:30pm
- Late Shift: 2:00pm - 9:30pm
- Sleep-in Shift: 2:00pm - 11:00pm
- Sleep-in Shift: 11:00pm - 7:00am
- Max 3 Sleep-ins per month
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in residential care, social care, or working with children/young people preferred
- Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is
- Skills: Excellent communication, safeguarding awareness, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour. Strong organizational skills
- Personal Attributes: A passion for supporting young people and promoting their well-being. Ability to work flexibly as part of a team
- The role will require an enhanced DBS check.
Additional Information:
- You will be expected to work on a rota system, including evenings, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts.
- Sleep in payment of £96.00 per sleep - example, based on 2 sleeps per month can add an additional £2,304.00 a year.
- Enhanced pay for weekend shifts - 25% added to your hourly rate of pay.
