Job Purpose:
Lead the delivery of external communications and media relations for an organisation, ensuring effective representation of views and opinions. Collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve strategic aims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage external media relations, acting as a liaison between the organisation and local, regional, and national media.
- Supervise press officers and ensure fair distribution of press office work.
- Optimise social media channels by creating and sharing tailored content.
- Stay informed about news events and address relevant issues.
- Cultivate positive relationships with journalists and other media contacts.
- Coordinate proactive and reactive media engagement.
- Set clear objectives, evaluate outcomes, and improve communication strategies.
- Assist with other communication tasks, including document preparation.
- Serve as the main contact for high-profile visits.
- Monitor media coverage and maintain internal and external relationships.
