This 'good' rated school on its last Ofsted inspection, is seeking a dedicated History Teacher to join their team from September, on an ongoing basis to cover maternity leave. The role currently involves teaching on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with the potential to extend to full-time for a strong candidate. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality history education to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, including exam groups.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and informative history lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, ensuring a high level of understanding and enthusiasm for the subject.
  • Prepare students for examinations by providing comprehensive coverage of the curriculum and effective revision strategies.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Contribute to the creation of a supportive and productive learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and whole school training events.
  • Take on a tutor group, providing pastoral support and guidance to students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and teaching resources.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching history at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Ability to prepare students for history exams effectively.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and the school's ethos.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a changing timetable.
