Reed is representing a client in the international logistics industry seeking an Ocean Export Agent. This role offers the opportunity to join a dedicated team, ensuring the smooth execution of global trade by providing top-notch customer service and expertly managing supply chain logistics.
Day to Day of the role:
- Execute export bookings and maintain effective communication with customers.
- Prepare and manage various export documentation.
- Proficiently use internal export management systems.
- Document customer requirements in the SOP database.
- Conduct credit and denied party screenings prior to shipment.
- Adhere to internal quality standards and compliance policies.
- Handle client billings accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain strong relationships with service providers.
- Declare permits if required after passing the Customs Competency test.
- Respond to emails within 24 hours and phone communications within the same day.
- Escalate issues to Management when necessary.
- Undertake additional tasks to meet departmental needs and goals.
- Fulfil a commitment to 52 hours of training per year.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum tertiary educational level.
- 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of ocean documentation process or experience in the industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Effective interpersonal skills with clear and concise communication.
- Proactive with strong organizational skills.
- Good computer skills (Excel, Word) and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in English.
