Our Client Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings. We have launched a monitoring system that revolutionises how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people's lives.

To support the continued site expansion, we currently have an opportunity within the R&D team for an entry-level, or graduate scientist to join us. This team provide product R&D support activities through scientific experimentation and concept development.

Job Specifics:

  • 12 Month Contract
  • Monday to Friday - 37.5hrs per week
  • £14.97-£16.92
  • Fully on site - 5 days a week
  • Hands on role

This position is at the heart of the R&D team within the New Product Introduction team and your input and delivery of results will be instrumental in the achievement of key product and process innovations in both the UK, Ireland and the US. In this role, you will support prototype fabrication, experimental trials, investigations and testing, data analysis and result interpretation, problem solving, which may involve report writing and presentation of the results.

You should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment within a hard-working and welcoming team. The position offers a wide-range of opportunities to grow your technical and scientific knowledge, as well as analysing data, evaluating results and forming conclusions, and using your technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.

Job Requirements:

To be successful, you will ideally be degree qualified in a scientific discipline, bring experience of working in a laboratory setting, and have a strong desire to learn and develop professionally.

The ideal candidates will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a team. You will need to have good communication, analytical and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment. There will be opportunity to collaborate within R&D, and with quality, operations and engineering functions in the UK, Ireland and the US.
