Job title: Field Care Supervisor.
Domicil iary care setting, 37.5hours per week.
Reports to: Registered Manager
Main purpose of job: To work under the management team to ensure quality care services are provided to service users, regulations/policies are adhered to and CQC defined effective, safe and efficient homecare service are implemented within the working community.
Main tasks
- Creating care plans, completing initial assessments, risk assessments and care plan reviews with service users.
- Providing weekly reports pertinent to service users and care workers.
- Conducting quality assurance measures to ensure care services provided meet the needs of service users and are aligned with governing regulations: surveys, spotchecks, shadowing and supervision meetings
- Supporting service users needs by liaising with GP, Pharmacy, District Nurses, Occupational therapists and any other relevant professionals.
- Any other administrative procedures/tasks required by Registered Manager.
Job responsibilities
- To carry out initial visits and care needs assessments for all new service users.
- To work with the Care Manager to identify the most suitable Care Workers for each package.
- To carry out and manage reviews and risk assessments as part of the senior team.
- To take part in senior on-call rota to support service safety and coordination.
- Ensure staff are supervised and spot checks and professional compliances are evidenced as part of senior team and as allocated.
- To carry out spot checks in clients' homes whilst Care Workers are in attendance.
- To participate in inducting new Care Workers.
- To provide shadowing for new Care Workers and report their readiness to work independently to the Care Manager.
- To check that all Care Workers record visits accurately and to a high standard in the daily visit reports or care notes.
- To ensure that all Care Workers are capable and confident of carrying out their roles by identifying development and training needs. To participate in the preparation and delivery of in-house training and group supervision.
- Ensure staff are up-to-date with training knowledge and are following best practice in Medication, Manual Handling, Mental Capacity, and Infection control practice and other training modules.
- Supporting the safe service delivery when cover for clients' calls is required.
- To attend/lead team meetings and foster professional development.
- To report to the Care Manager any significant changes in the health, wellbeing, or circumstances of service users.
- To carry out client reviews as required including Local Authority reviews and to follow up with any key actions.
- To report to the Registered Manager any incident of late or missed visits.
- To cover short notice absences of Care Workers by reorganising Care Worker teams, or as a last resort covering the care call personally.
- To report any comments, complaints and compliments to the Registered Manager as soon as they are received.
- To participate in any Safeguarding investigations together with the Care Manager, as needed.
- To work as part of the senior care team in disciplinary meetings.
- To cooperate with and support other geographic teams as required.
- To always adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the domiciliary care setting in addition to the following:
- Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
- Ability to understand, be sensitive and empathetic to the needs of clients.
- Positive attitude, Enthusiastic, Self-motivated, proactive and use of initiative.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to continual personal and professional development and show willingness to undergo training as may be required.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, Monday to Friday plus alternate weekends.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure.
- Full UK Driving license and access to own car for business use.
- Use of a fully working and maintained mobile phone with internet connection.
- Active team player but also able to work on own initiative.
- Well organised. Good interpersonal skills. I.T.Literate.
- Ability to work under pressure on own initiative or as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively,one to one, and in groups,in a wide range of contexts.
- Experience of care and support in lone working capacity.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to organise and produce written information clearly and concisely to tight deadlines.
- Be aware of and promote best practice to ensure compliance with Health and Social care act 2008. Awareness of CQC as a regulatory body.
