We are currently recruiting for one of our trusted clients who are looking for a Cloud/Platform Engineer. This is your chance to join a leading IT consultancy, specialising in supporting the Defence and Aerospace sectors. Heavily embedded in supporting both the UK and US governments across designing and implementing next-generation solutions.

Key Responsibilities as a Cloud/Platform Engineer

  • As a Cloud/Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of secure, scalable platforms that support mission-critical operations.
  • Platform Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure platforms using industry-standard infrastructure and automation tools.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure the platform meets stringent security requirements and complies with governmental policies and regulations.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet to automate provisioning and configuration.
  • Cloud & On-Prem Environments: Manage and optimize cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) as well as on-premises solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure platform integration with security, development, and operational requirements.

Core experience, Qualifications, and Skills

  • Current Enhanced DV Clearance is ESSENTIAL to be considered. Only apply if you hold current DV clearance.
  • Platform Engineering Expertise
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell and experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Cloud & On-Prem Expertise: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or on-premises environments, with a strong understanding of networking, storage, and compute resources.
  • DevOps Methodologies: In-depth knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, version control (e.g., Git), and automated deployments.
  • Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of security best practices, including network security, encryption, and vulnerability management.
  • Monitoring & Performance: Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques to ensure platform reliability.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools.
