Job Title: Senior Managing Quantity Surveyor

Location: London, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire (occasional projects in Kent)

Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 (negotiable)

Role Overview: We are seeking an accomplished and confident Senior Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing large-scale house building projects, with a proven track record of delivering success. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of our projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Oversee the financial management of high-end house building projects, from initial estimates to final accounts.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports and financial statements to senior management.
  • Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Liaise with site managers and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen to ensure projects are profitable and financially viable.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a senior managing quantity surveyor role, preferably within a large construction company such as Hills or Wates.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to represent the company to clients and stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to think strategically and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated loyalty and commitment in previous roles, with a preference for candidates who have shown stability in their career.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and without constant supervision.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and their application in the construction industry.
  • Experience in managing subcontractors and delivering high-end house building projects.
