1:1 Teaching Assistant- Tarleton

This opportunity is based in Tarleton, offering a chance to work one-on-one with a pupil.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA2B) to join our team and provide essential support for a Year 4 student with learning difficulties. This student, who will be joining us in September, has been assessed with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) at Band E4, indicating the need for significant additional support. As a 1:1 TA, you will play a pivotal role in the student's educational journey, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance to thrive both academically and socially. This full-time position requires commitment during school hours (8:45 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday) and may extend until the end of the half term, with the potential for continuation based on the student's needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilisation and development of 1:1 resources.
  • Experience working with SEN pupils
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and TA's to organise appropriate activities.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as Teacher's, TA, specialist support staff.
  • Work closely with other LSA's and support staff.
  • Work with classes, small groups and with children on a one to one basis.
  • Prepare and develop class displays.
  • Keep up to date records of the pupil's progress and contribute to the child's EHCP plan.
  • Create a calm environment where learning can take place.

Essential requirements:

  • Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have Special Educational Needs
  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
  • Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
  • TA qualified. L2/3.
