Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About Us:

At Engage Education, we are dedicated to providing tailored support to students aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other challenging behaviours. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, helping them to engage with their learning and develop essential life skills.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Support students in managing their behaviour through the use of de-escalation techniques and other strategies.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to create a supportive and consistent environment.
  • Help with the physical care of students, including manual handling when necessary.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being of students, ensuring their safety and promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Background in psychology, social work, or care work is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of conditions such as ASC, ADHD, MLD, SLD, SEMH, and experience managing challenging behaviour.
  • Team Teach, manual handling, first aid, and de-escalation training are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the development and well-being of every student.
