Up to £45,000 per annum.

London- Hybrid.

The Credit Control Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the credit control process and managing two credit controllers. This role involves ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, minimising overdue balances, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. The Team Leader will provide guidance, training, and support to their team, while also handling more complex credit control issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage two credit control assistants.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor team performance, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, challenges, and updates.
  • Oversee the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts.
  • Monitor aged debt reports and take appropriate action to reduce overdue balances.
  • Review and approve credit limits for new and existing customers.
  • Handle escalated and complex credit control issues and disputes.
  • Maintain positive relationships with key clients and resolve any credit-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding payment terms, overdue invoices, and credit policies.
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements where necessary.
  • Prepare regular reports on debtors, collections, and credit control activities for senior management.
  • Analyse credit data and financial statements to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve the credit control process.
  • Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate credit risk through effective credit control practices.
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation and regulations affecting credit control.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for credit control assistants.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the team.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback.
