Group Accountant - Hertfordshire
Day Rate £200 - £400
Contract: Initial 12 contract with a view to being extended
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday.

Our client are a local authority in Hertfordshire looking to recruit a Group Accountant on an interim contract. Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership to find the right candidate for the vacancy.
Role Brief:
To provide financial advice and guidance for a range of services across the council supporting key financial processes to enable the sound financial management of the organisation. This will require the post-holder to use professional skills and knowledge to proactively identify, investigate, analyse, and evaluate issues and/or solutions within the financial management framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- To establish effective business partnering arrangements and drive performance improvements with colleagues and teams by building effective relationships and ensure a high level of financial literacy across the organisation.
- To provide advice in the context of the Corporate Strategic Plan and Medium -Term Financial Plan, ensuring due diligence and accuracy of all financial analysis
- To support corporate projects led by Directors and/or Heads of Service, representing the financial services function ensuring all objectives and milestones are met to deliver project objectives.
- To ensure that relevant and effective budget management is in place, with regard to the services being supported. To produce final accounts, budgets and financial forecast monitoring in line with approved timetables and reporting arrangements.
What we're looking for:
- CCAB or CIMA qualification and membership
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Significant understanding of local and/or central government and how they work.
- A sound understanding of the Legislative framework and Codes of Practice in Local Government.
