Working with a special school in Dudley who are recruiting a 1:1 mentor/teaching assistant who displays challenging behaviours and works separately to others. This pupil will also require support whilst changing and being supervised during showering times. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate who is a full-time role and is funded for the whole academic year.
Whilst you will be supporting the child the majority of the time, you will also have the opportunity to integrate elsewhere in school and won't exclusively be working 1:1 the whole time. Someone with experience of working within a special school would be ideal, and you will play a crucial part in shaping this young person's education and emotional wellbeing.
The school itself is an oversubscribed all-age special school that supports students with a range of additional needs, including moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders, speech and language communication and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Based in Dudley, the school has fantastic transport links for drivers and individuals using public transport.
Trial days are being arranged for a week commencing 8th July 2024.
