Description

  • Develop and implement strategic buying plans for the grocery category.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders within the business to identify procurement needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyse market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure a smooth flow of goods to the business.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's procurement policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team.
  • Carry out risk management for supply contracts and agreements.

Profile

A successful Category Buying Manager should have:

  • Degree-level education in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes in the retail industry.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on the grocery category.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
