The opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead / Senior Risk Analyst to join the team in our London office. Enterprise Risk Management ("ERM") is a global function, that works alongside the business in tracking and reporting on the companies risk profile. The function services the Insurance, Investment, Ventures and Holding Company activities in risk identification and monitoring and provides risk reporting to the Group Risk Management Committee and Board on behalf of the business. The Risk Management Lead, Global Risk Management role offers exposure to a wide range of areas of the business and regular interactions with Senior Executives. The ERM function is currently working on a number of initiatives to enhance the risk framework and the ways of working with the business. The Risk Management Lead, Global Risk Management will have a key role in leading such initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead risk analysis and deep dives using quantitative data and qualitative information, setting the results into appropriate context, supporting better decision making
  • Be an integral part of the quarterly risk management process (including supporting and running risk owner meetings)
  • Manage the regular process for assessment, analysis and reporting of various areas of Risk across the Corporation - including timely delivery from collaborators, and verify information provided
  • Manage partner relationships on a day-to-day basis. Advocate for the function and promote awareness across the organisation. Viewed as a "go-to" subject matter expert for designated risks
  • Lead various projects to analyse areas of risk and propose practical, pragmatic and cost effective solutions
  • Guide work by junior members of the Global Risk Management team and provide support as needed
  • Use knowledge from partner interactions to proactively suggest potential risk responses to the rest of the team. Partner with collaborators to facilitate implementation of appropriate risk actions
  • Support regulatory and rating agency ERM related requirements, as appropriate
  • Support and enhance our ERM function, demonstrating technological solutions to bring efficiencies, review and challenge to how the risk framework operates and make suggestions for improvement
  • Represent ERM at cross-functional committee and working group meetings and share knowledge from meetings with the rest of the ERM team. Support raising the profile of the function across the Company through presentations and production of materials

Our must haves:

  • Have experience in writing reports and communicating technical information confidently in a way that is easy to understand, digest and apply
  • Analyse data and information and draw conclusions
  • Have a good grounding in insurance business models/ underwriting products and technical risk knowledge - this is critical
  • Bring together general business knowledge and technical risk knowledge to support thematic/ business specific threat and opportunity assessments
  • Work collaboratively with and influence partners at varying levels of seniority across the business
  • Be able to communicate well with the ERM team and document own work thoroughly
  • Be able to understand new or unfamiliar topics by asking well-targeted questions and identify and relay key risk factors
  • Have strong organisational and time leadership skills
