Job Title - Health and Safety officer
Location- Gawcott, Buckinghamshire
Salary- £32,000 - £40,000 per annum
HSE Recruitment are looking on behalf of a growing contractor, for a Health and Safety Officer to join them working out of their Gawcott Depot. Well established processes that have evolved over the last few years to accommodate the ever-growing business, they are very open to new ideas and very supportive of making changes to keep the staff safe and reduce accidents. They are quick to see hazards, and rectify them if needed. They take a firm but fair approach, engaging with workers conversationally, and looking for solutions before escalating. The company appreciates a very hands-on approach, by visiting the gangs often and re-educating the workers if/when necessary and helping them along and asking them what the H&S team can do to help.
You will be required to have the ability to work independently on build sites, ensuring process, site inspections are actioned and closed off. You will have to monitor the gangs, be hands on, build report and be collaborative with them as the Health and safety officer for this area.
The role is going to involve traveling to multiple site within a maximum of 90 minutes from the Gawcott Depot and working primarily independently when visiting the sites.
Required skills and qualifications:
- NEBOSH Certificate level qualification is desirable but we will consider IOSH Managing Safely
- Highways experience – desirable but we are open to all sectors that are transferable such as general construction, heavy equipment, logistics and transport etc.
- Ability to work across multiple sites and self motivate
- Full and valid Driving license
- Autonomous person that can take ownership
- Hands on, good communicator and able to engage with site staff.
The offered salary is between £32-40,000 however that will be negotiable depending on experience.
