In the last 15 years the organisation has developed a reputation for delivering high-quality projects throughout the UK and has grown impressive teams in a range of sectors. Their healthcare division is soon to commence construction of a £180m+ scheme at a London hospital site.
Description
As the Senior Design Manager you will play a key role through all construction activity. You will be involved across client reporting, design coordination, and engagement with the build team. Your key repsonsibilities will be:
- Managing the design process using commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise
- Leading all client interaction, specifically focused on clear reporting, design programme management, and change control procedures
- Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate
- Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales
- Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction
Profile
Applicants for this Senior Design Manager should have:
- A clear track record as a Design Manager within a main contractor environment
- Healthcare project experience, ideally projects of scale including refurbishment and new build elements
- A proven ability to problem solve and generate solutions for clients and build teams alike
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively with clients within the healthcare sector
- Some direct line management experience is advantageous but not essntial
