The Role
Our client is currently looking for an Applications Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will have a track record of implementing processes as well as procedures as part of the delivery of critical products. The successful candidate should also be versed in continuous improvement techniques_._
Duties and responsibilities:
- To be able to provide a productive working relationship with all teams within the business and to allow new products to be introduced smoothly and effectively.
- To be capable of CNC machine programming via CAD/CAM readiness, as well as being capable of milling on a 5-axis.
- To work with the Design Engineering team to formulate manufacturing processes with a focus on error proofing techniques.
- To improve present manufacturing and production processes which will boost productivity, quality and profitability.
- To have good understanding of multiple manufacturing techniques - milling, turning, assembly methods, fixturing.
- To seek to improve shop floor / product performance through using available tools and methodologies: Lean, 6 sigma, FMEA, etc...
The Candidate
- To have experience in purchasing consumable tooling and equipment as part of new products.
- Ability to work under tight timescales as well as pressure.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail as well as quality.
