Position Summary

The Senior Crude Oil Trader will be responsible for executing the company's crude oil trading strategies, maximizing profitability, and managing risk. This role requires a deep understanding of global crude oil markets, extensive experience in trading, and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key market participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trading Execution:

  • Execute crude oil trades to achieve profit targets and manage market exposure.

  • Monitor market trends, price movements, and news to identify trading opportunities.

  • Utilize various trading instruments including futures, options, swaps, and physical trades.

  • Market Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to forecast market movements and identify trading opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain models to support trading decisions.

  • Provide regular market updates and insights to the trading team and senior management.

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify and manage trading risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.

  • Implement risk management strategies and adhere to the company's risk policies.

  • Monitor positions and ensure compliance with trading limits and regulatory requirements.

  • Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key market participants, including suppliers, customers, brokers, and financial institutions.

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with trading partners.

  • Represent the company at industry events and maintain a positive company image.

  • Strategic Development:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's trading strategy.

  • Identify new market opportunities and potential areas for business growth.

  • Collaborate with other departments, including operations, finance, and compliance, to ensure smooth execution of trading activities.

Qualifications

  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, MSc) is preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in crude oil trading or a related field.

  • Proven track record of successful trading and profit generation.

  • In-depth knowledge of global crude oil markets, including market dynamics, trading instruments, and regulatory environment.

  • Skills:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
