Reed HR are seeking a dedicated HR Assistant to join a charity based in the Bywell area. This is a permanent position, ideal for someone passionate about making a difference and supporting the smooth operation of a busy HR function.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
- Support the HR department in implementing policies and procedures.
- Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements.
- Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance.
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data, like absences, bonus and leaves.
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Help organise training & development initiatives.
- Participate in HR projects, like the collection of employee feedback.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HR Assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position.
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
- Ability to work with MS Office Suite.
- Understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Superb organisational and time management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- CIPD qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
