As a Porter and Driver, you will be responsible for organising clinical waste areas for disposal, removal of waste from the buildings, delivering and retrieving linen for the units, receiving and delivering Oxygen canisters, including changing oxygen canisters, driving service users to external appointments.
You will be liaising with the waste management team, linen management and all delivery teams for clinical consumables.

As a Porter and Driver you will be:
- Ordering and distributing of supplies, linen and Oxygen to the Centre, its individual rooms and House-Keeping/Laundry/Kitchen environment
- Undertaking of low level maintenance/handyman jobs
- Retrieving and distributing post
- Collection and delivery of service user prescriptions and medicines
- Provide service user, staff and goods transport when required
- Take control of the routine maintenance of the vehicle
- Keeping vehicle clean and carrying out any required checks weekly.
- Delivery of high standards of Customer Service
- Assistance with general and clinical waste, and laundry removal and control
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Preferably have previous experience of portering or maintenance within a similar environment
- Enjoy being busy and get satisfaction from a job well done
- Prioritise duties and responsibilities effectively
- Be a good communicator
- Have good attention to detail and high standards of tidiness
- Have the ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.

Lakefields Neurological Centre will be a 22-bed service that delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise their functional ability and improve their quality of life. The Centre specialises in neuro-rehabilitation, tracheostomy and ventilator care.
Bedrooms are adapted to individual requirements, fitted with high dependency equipment including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities, spacious lounge areas and wheelchair access to beautiful gardens.
