Location: Bridgwater
Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum

We are seeking a Project Permit Controller to join a pivotal project at Hinkley Point C, the UK's first new build nuclear power station in a generation, crucial to achieving UK NetZero targets. As a Project Permit Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and quality-focused environment, supporting our commitment to Zero Harm and high standards of safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a safe working environment through preventive measures and expert support.
  • Foster a culture of quality throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to streamline permit issuance processes and improve project efficiency.
  • Lead the permit function, directing construction delivery team leads.
  • Manage and mitigate risks to prevent unplanned costs and delays.
  • Provide transparency and performance visibility of permit acceptance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as needed.

Key Deliverables:

  • Develop and maintain project permit documentation, processes, and inspection plans.
  • Implement and oversee permit system performance and reporting, including KPI monitoring.
  • Lead and develop the permit team, ensuring appropriate selection and development plans.
  • Organize and lead permit system meetings and operational sessions, maintaining accurate records.
  • Contribute to project lead team reviews and discussions to uphold project objectives and performance.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience in a similar role within a regulated industry or construction environment.
  • Experience managing and controlling permit systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Additional Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven track record in large-scale projects, preferably in the nuclear or similar regulated sector.
  • Experience operating at a functional control level on major EPC projects is desirable.
