In this pivotal role, the Process Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and optimisation of industrial processes to maintain efficiency. The role demands an understanding of the manufacturing industry, and a keen eye for detail to identify areas for improvement.

This organisation is a globally recognised player in the Industrial / Manufacturing industry based in Glossop. They supply customers within the Aerospace, Oil, Gas and similiar sectors and they are heavily invested in the Engineering & Manufacturing department, continually striving to optimise their processes and maintain a strong market presence.

Description

As Process Engineer you will be tasked with the following;

  • To provide technical support to Manufacturing operations within the company.
  • Generate and maintain production routes, procedures and specifications in response to process improvement or changes to client specifications.
  • To carry out re-melting and heat treatment conformance/deviation checks.
  • To participate in Initial Product validation projects.
  • To generate and circulate technical KPI data.
  • To update Raw material purchase specification and supplier quality release overchecks.
  • To participate in Internal quality auditing
  • To monitor all processes to determine, maintain and improve manufacturing capability.
  • Investigation of product non-conformance in conjunction with the technical team.
  • Actively pursue cost reduction opportunities through refinement of methods and increased process capability
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures and working practices

Profile

A successful Process Engineer should have:

  • Degree or equivalent in a metallurgical, material science or Manufacturing engineering discipline.
  • Awareness of manufacturing process
  • Technical/materials/yields
  • Approvals/quality systems
  • Business Finance
  • Ability to engage with and facilitate multi-disciplinary teams on product and process improvements
  • Experience in a hot working environment or melting environment.
  • Experience in the application of statistical, root cause and problem solving tools and techniques (such as SPC, FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa, 6 Sigma)
  • Has a good awareness of quality approvals such as ISO9001, AS9100, IATF16949.
  • Familiarity with specifications and their interpretation.
  • Confident IT systems user with experience of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
