Description
As Process Engineer you will be tasked with the following;
- To provide technical support to Manufacturing operations within the company.
- Generate and maintain production routes, procedures and specifications in response to process improvement or changes to client specifications.
- To carry out re-melting and heat treatment conformance/deviation checks.
- To participate in Initial Product validation projects.
- To generate and circulate technical KPI data.
- To update Raw material purchase specification and supplier quality release overchecks.
- To participate in Internal quality auditing
- To monitor all processes to determine, maintain and improve manufacturing capability.
- Investigation of product non-conformance in conjunction with the technical team.
- Actively pursue cost reduction opportunities through refinement of methods and increased process capability
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures and working practices
Profile
A successful Process Engineer should have:
- Degree or equivalent in a metallurgical, material science or Manufacturing engineering discipline.
- Awareness of manufacturing process
- Technical/materials/yields
- Approvals/quality systems
- Business Finance
- Ability to engage with and facilitate multi-disciplinary teams on product and process improvements
- Experience in a hot working environment or melting environment.
- Experience in the application of statistical, root cause and problem solving tools and techniques (such as SPC, FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa, 6 Sigma)
- Has a good awareness of quality approvals such as ISO9001, AS9100, IATF16949.
- Familiarity with specifications and their interpretation.
- Confident IT systems user with experience of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
