Job Description:
As a Child Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in our team, directly assisting children and young people in various settings to provide emotional and practical support. Your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:

  • Establish positive relationship with the children.
  • Conduct key work sessions as a group or individually to support the young person with their emotional, social and behavioural needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualised care plans for the young person.
  • Work closely with other social service professionals, community organizations, and government agencies to coordinate services and support for the young person.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviours as well as working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive living environment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of each childs progress and behaviour and complete reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or qualifications are a plus).
  • Experience working with children or young people in a residential setting or similar
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children's lives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the changing needs of the children.

  • Enhanced Adult and Child DBS registered on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to provide 3 years of references.
