Salary up to £32,500 plus a great range of benefits

40 Hours per week

Working any 5 days from 7 contract on a rota basis with occasional requirement to work nights

If you are passionate for ensuring you deliver meals of the highest standard of quality, safety and customer service the join us as the Canteen Manager at Brakes Depot in Tamworth, Staffordshire. We have an opportunity for you to oversee the day-to-day operations of the internal canteen. You'll require previous commercial kitchen experience and hold level 3 in Food Safety Supervision for catering and a level 2 HACCP qualifications.

As Canteen Manager you can expect a varied role from managing a small team of 6 colleagues efficiently to ensure coverage for all shifts. You will to lead by example to drive a positive and engaging culture within the workforce. You'll have freedom to create a broad varied menu (working within budget constraints) that's suitable for our colleagues needs. By establishing relationships with the warehouse and stock teams, you'll work closely to make use of any additional food available. By taking responsibility for authorising purchases; we'll look to you to provide costing data on a monthly basis including: revenue from sales, costs of orders as well as analysis of monthly earnings of the canteen facility. In addition to the daily canteen service your team with also provide effective planning and catering for events, meetings and embracing celebrations of seasonal events throughout the year.

To join us in this role, you'll have previous management experience and demonstrable customer service skills. We'll look for you to possess an ability to think on your feet with a proven track record of problem-solving skills, confidence to address and support under performance, resolving any conflicts that may occur. You'll have a can-do attitude and ability to keep calm whilst working in a ever changing environment and to tight deadlines. You will be required to be computer literate in particular proficient in using Microsoft Office. Previous experience of working within a fast paced buffet style food service would be of advantage.

You can expect typical shift pattern 07:30 until 15:30 – There is no canteen after 2pm (Night shift runs 1900 until 03:00 for around 6 weeks per year / as required)
