Job Opportunity: Transport Night Planner (4 on 4 off)

Overview:

Join a thriving, family-run logistics firm based in Staines, renowned for its excellence in the industry and commitment to customer satisfaction and employee well-being. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Planner to join their team and play a crucial role in managing operations during the night shift on a 4 on 4 off rota.

Location: Staines-upon-Thames
Hours: 6pm - 6am
Salary: £29,000 - £31,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the efficient movement of the fleet, ensuring timely deliveries and collections.
  • Allocate tasks to drivers, maintaining continuous communication to keep operations on track and foster strong relationships.
  • Provide solutions for operational issues, adapt plans as needed, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Oversee vehicle and trailer management, ensuring adherence to all legal requirements.
  • Execute daily plans in real time, effectively managing resources and minimising costs.
  • Keep internal systems organised and up-to-date.
  • Adhere to safe working practices and working time regulations.
  • Meet KPIs related to fleet safety and efficiency.
  • Process export and import documentation correctly.
  • Manage customer expectations and deliver outstanding service.
  • Handle office phone calls and inquiries.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by management.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of the freight industry.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers, third parties, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive in preventing significant shipment issues.
  • Reliable, flexible, and detail-oriented.
  • Competent with IT tools (Outlook, internet navigation).
  • Eager to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Previous experience in a logistics company is preferred.

Additional Information:

  • A clean CRC check is required, to be conducted prior to employment.
  • Prior training in Cargo Operative (non-screening) and Hazard Awareness is ideal. If not already completed, mandatory training will be provided before employment begins.
