Tutorial Officer office based

A lovely opportunity to join one of Cambridge's prestigious College's based in the heart of the City.
You will work in their busy tutorial office, ensuring that students of the College are well supported. You will provide administrative support to the Senior Tutor's and Director of Studies, deputising for the Tutorial Office Manager during their absence.
Your duties are likely to include;

  • Examination administration (including EAA applications, arranging exams in College, recruitment of invigilators, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all University examination regulations and guidelines)
  • Assist with the preparation of GB Reports
  • Maintain student records on the student database (Cam SIS)
  • Administering the College's online reporting system for recording academic supervision (CamCORS)
  • Arrange end-of-term appointments with Tutors, and ensure that Tutors have essential documentation
  • Assist with the organisation of events as requested by the Senior Tutor and/or Tutors
  • Make changes or additions, under supervision, to the Tutorial section of the College web-site in compliance with College standards
  • Keep up-to-date files and records (both electronically and paper) on all matters involving Tutors and students
  • Assist with the termly contact of overseas students and monitor visa renewals in line with recommendations from the University International Student Office
  • Assist with generating standard letters
  • Respond promptly to student enquiries or concerns, whether in person or via email, as they arise
  • Process Bursary Applications in a timely fashion, keeping students informed of the outcome
  • Produce statistical reports from databases, including CamSIS
  • Handle confidential information, including sensitive personal data, appropriately

Ideally you will demonstrate the following attributes and experience

  • An excellent standard of written English
  • Significant experience in the role of a senior administrator; experience in student administration within a University setting is highly desirable
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively under pressure, to prioritise and where necessary to manage a demanding and sometimes pressurised workload
  • Able to use initiative and judgement to problem solve
  • Extensive and advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and internet packages in order to perform all office tasks
  • Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels
  • Able to recognise confidential information and handle it appropriately, including displaying discretion and professionalism in all written and verbal communications
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist other team members when necessary

Hours are 36.25 per week Monday to Friday, some occasional weekend and evening work may be required during busy examination periods, this will be granted as time in lieu
The position offers a generous salary of between £32872 and £34199 with excellent benefits on offer too including generous pension and free lunches on site
