About my Client:
Established in 1988, this is a leading plastic polythene packaging company are now looking for a Flexographic Plate Mounter to join their team due to recent growth and expansion.
Purpose of a Flexographic Plate Mounter:
The Flexographic Plate Mounter is responsible for preparing and mounting flexographic printing plates onto cylinders or sleeves with precision and accuracy. As the Ink Dispenser, you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing ink for printing processes and operating and maintaining printing equipment; this role requires a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities of a Flexographic Plate Mounter:
- Inspect flexographic plates for quality and defects
- Clean and prepare plates for mounting
- Ensure plates are correctly identified and stored.
- Precisely position and mount printing plates onto cylinders or sleeves.
- Use mounting equipment and alignment tools to ensure accurate placement
- Conduct quality checks on mounted plates for alignment, registration, and consistency.
- Inspect printing ink for defects and colour accuracy, adjusting as necessary
- Mix and prepare inks according to specific colour formulas and client requirements
- Work closely with press operators, prepress teams, and other production staff
Experience required for a Flexographic Plate Mounter:
- Previous experience in flexographic printing or plate mounting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
- Basic understanding of printing processes and equipment.
- Experience in ink dispensing or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of various printing processes and equipment.
- Excellent colour perception and attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical requirement for a Flexographic Plate Mounter:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity to handle small tools and components.
- Ability to lift and move heavy cylinders or sleeves.
