Our client is a fast growing software business which is looking to appoint a progressive and commercially minded CFO to help them prepare for their next stage of growth.
This is a predominantly office based role with 1 day a week from home.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Executive Committee and the Board to develop budgets and provide access to financial information and ensure compliance across the Finance function.
- Act as Company Secretary
- Set financial goals for the Company
- Provide financial insights to support key strategic initiatives, driving long-term growth and profitability
- Represent the Company to external stakeholders such as shareholders, regulators and financial institutions
- Aligning the Finance teams objectives to the company's overall mission and vision
- Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, identifying areas for cost reduction and process enhancements
- Making sure that the organisation's financial and reporting systems are always up to date and allow efficient and effective management decisions to be made both operationally and strategically.
- In every area of responsibility, ensure compliance with the law, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Providing effective leadership and management to the Finance team, ensuring continued development and progression as and where possible.
- Overall responsibility for the financial activity of the organisation which includes (not limited to): management accounts, co-ordination of the budget setting process, production of the main consolidated annual financial accounts, co-ordinating investments held and report of performance, payroll, treasury management, Accounts receivable and payable - ensuring good credit control.
- Leading and/or contributing to the development and implementation of agreed corporate strategies and policies, and reporting on progress as appropriate to the Board
- Acting as the MLRO
- Any other duties as reasonably required
Requirements
- Experience working at an executive leadership level, either in a private company or in an SME.
- Relevant technical and accountancy skills and qualifications such as, CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualified or equivalent.
- Proven experience of creating and delivering financial and commercial in-year business plans and strategy.
- Strong management and leadership experience
- Experienced managing audits as client, VAT and knowledge of partial exemption requirements, and group accounting and consolidation
- Knowledge and understanding of anti-money laundering regulations
