Payroll Manager

The Opportunity:

An excellent opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join an industrial/manufacturing business based in Stockton!

Responsible for the full UK payroll function of all sites, dealing with complex payroll calculations across the multiple terms and conditions within the wider organisation.

You will ensure the implementation of effective pay and benefit processes that deliver a high accuracy rate and ensure all payroll information is maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and work with internal customers and key stakeholders to ensure a high quality of service is delivered.

Duties/Responsibilities:

As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervise monthly payroll reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and ensure account integrity.
  • Oversee legislative reporting, annual audits, and manage payroll providers for accurate submissions.
  • Administer monthly pension processes, including contributions, changes, and auto-enrolment.
  • Process UK payroll for international assignments and manage quarterly recharges.
  • Coordinate annual pay reviews, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of salary/allowance adjustments.
  • Line manage Payroll Administrator and act as company expert for iTrent/MyView, managing payroll system maintenance and upgrades.

You will be/have:

As the payroll Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Degree-qualified with experience in Payroll or Finance within a multi-site organization.
  • Strong technical knowledge of payroll and pension legislation, including Tax, NI, SMP, SSP, and SPP.
  • Proficient in Excel and SAP Business Objects for spreadsheets and report generation.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred experience with iTrent system.
  • Must manage complex payroll processes, reconcile across business units, and authorize monthly payments with high attention to detail.
  • Requires discretion in handling confidential financial/personal data and ability to work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines.
