Bradford 2025 Community Coordinator

Could you be Incommunities new Community Coordinator? Joining us on an 18 month fixed term contract, you will build a presence in the community as part of the Bradford 2025 City of Culture Community Engagement Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to help facilitate and support cultural activities within the Bradford district that will benefit Incommunities customers and the wider community.

We are a social housing landlord and one of the largest housing providers in the region with over 22,000 social and affordable homes, mainly in the Bradford district. We employ a talented workforce of nearly 1,000 people.

This year will see us launch our new 5 year corporate strategy to 2029 which puts customers at the heart of what we do, providing great places to live and work, with homes that they are proud to live in.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong, meaningful relationships with the Bradford 2025 team, in particular key members of the Community Engagement Programme team with whom you might co-locate for some of your time.
  • Gather, analyse and act on evidence of the asks of communities so that Incommunities customers can fully access arts and cultural opportunities and impact is created quickly.
  • Work alongside Incommunities Neighbourhood Housing Officers & Customer Voice teams and Bradford 2025 colleagues to unlock capacity and maximise opportunities for customers.
  • Contribute to fundraising opportunities and identify where resources should be prioritised so they have the most benefit to customers and communities.
  • Identify opportunities for legacy benefits and act on these for the benefit of Incommunities customers and communities.
  • Build and competently manage stakeholder relationships across Incommunities neighbourhoods in relation to the City of Culture community engagement programme.
  • Gather feedback and insight so that the short and long term impacts of the City of Culture can be measured for Incommunities customers.
  • Ensure that internal and external communication about our involvement in Bradford 2025 is powerful, effective and in line with corporate brand guidelines.

  • Are enthusiastic and willing to learn, able to think creatively and to pick up new ways of working quickly
  • Confident in working autonomously and as part of a bigger team.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of building and managing diverse stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills and an ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaboratively across multiple specialisms.
  • Experiencing of working with community groups and residents from diverse backgrounds on a range of topics.
  • Experience of working with arts and cultural creative practitioners.
  • Experience of creative thinking and adapting to new ways of working quickly.
  • Experience of managing projects and programmes.
  • Experience of fundraising.
