HR Manager

Posted by Andrew James Specialist Recruitment Limited.

We are supporting a brilliant Surrey based charity as they look to hire a HR Manager/Head of HR into their HR function.

The organisation delivers innovative services and solutions to a very deserving part of the population which makes a huge difference to those that it serves. At its heart, it is a people centric and serving organisation, this role can play a key part in shaping the organisations internal people landscape, which of course is intrinsically linked to the external.

Reporting to the MD and working closely with the Chairman and Trustees, the role will manage a small HR team and take responsibility for delivering a first-class operational service for the organisation. It will be the role that makes sure that people administration happens efficiently and effectively (through the team). It will take the lead on managing ER issues and maintaining policies and procedures ( in conjunction with the SLT and safeguarding team) that are current and correct, protecting everyone benefiting from or delivering their services.

At the strategic level the role will be encouraged to work closely with the MD and Chairman to translate the organisations strategic visions and objectives into actionable people initiatives that can help the organisation reach its goals. It will be involved talent and succession planning at an early stage. The role will also have the opportunity to manage change (plenty of support available here from a Chairman who has a lot of HR and change management experience).

This is an exciting role that will suit an individual who has private sector or charitable experience and a passion / interest in working for an organisation that has a great purpose, helping people.

To apply, you could be a HR manager, HRBP or Senior HR Advisor who is looking for a role that can really develop. If this is you, you should be passionate, commercially aware and confident in your ability to think strategically and manage people.

The role could also suit a Head of HR who is looking to apply their experience and skills to a Surrey based charity that does great things. If this is you, just keep in mind that this is not a giant organisation and it is a charity - reward will come from other things with an affordable package for the organisation on offer (but one that might not match any corporate Head of HR role).

It is expected that all applicants will be CIPD qualified and will have experience of managing ER issues. If you have any exposure / understanding of safeguarding and with organisations that deliver services to vulnerable adults or minors, then that is an advantage.

The successful candidate will bring drive, enthusiasm and passion to the role. They will be someone who can see the bigger picture and will be able to develop a brilliant forward thinking HR function for the organisation.
