The Role
The school is looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of Food Technology to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5 for suitably qualified candidates. The successful candidate will inspire and engage students, promoting a love for cooking and healthy living.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Food Technology.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Contribute to the development of the Food Technology curriculum.
- Participate in departmental and whole-school activities and events.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A relevant degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field.
- Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
- Experience in a UK school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Food Technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable
- Experience teaching A-Level Food Technology.
- Familiarity with current educational trends and technology in food education.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Professional culinary qualifications.
