Experienced Contract Infrastructure Engineer for a Financial Sector Client in Sheffield

I'm currently searching for a talented and highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's team located in the city of Sheffield. Our client operates within the financial sector, providing exceptional services that cater to businesses across various industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing x86 hardware, server management software, security and compliance protocols while ensuring firmware/microcode release cycle is up-to-date.

Role Requirements:

- Experience in certifying the overlaying Windows, RedHat and ESXi operating system products on x86 server server management software
- A deep technical understanding of common remote server management software
- Extensive knowledge regarding how servers operate as well as their upkeep through regular maintenance checks.
- In depth experience of dealing with Security and Compliance within a large financial institution.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Support the business by understanding available x86 hardware bundles, firmware/microcode release cycle
- Acting as key technical bridge between business, architecture, and engineering teams as well as vendors.
- Ensure optimal performance levels by implementing best practices when it comes down to network connectivity between sites
- Maintaining vendor relationships so issues can rapidly addressed should they arise
- Keeping up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable
