Contract: Temporary, Full-Time

About the Role:

We're seeking experienced Safeguarding Social Workers to join our Children's Services team at Worcestershire County Council. You'll play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with children subject to Child Protection Plans, supporting families to address identified concerns.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including substance abuse workers, domestic violence workers, and emotional health and wellbeing workers.
  • Chair core groups and regularly assess family progress.
  • Support families in reducing risks and diverting from court proceedings.
  • Undertake parenting and risk assessments to inform future planning.
  • Initiate care proceedings when necessary and work towards securing permanence for children within the 26-week timescale.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Relevant social work qualifications (Degree or Diploma level).
  • Significant experience in child protection work.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
