Position Available: Infrastructure Support Analyst
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: c. £42,000
Experience needed: We are looking for someone who has experience in managing and auditing IT hardware & software assets, while also maintaining and managing the databases used to track them (asset management, configuration management and licensing). Due to the requirements of the role, you would need to hold active Security Clearance (SC or DV).
About the role:
The successful candidate will work with the Service Manager and report to the Solution Owner, to provide Hardware and Software configuration support. The primary purpose of the role is to:
- Audit/manage the Programme assets
- Administer the Asset Database and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
- Administer the Licence Management database
- Act as the Programme's focal point for hardware and software acquisition through liaison with the SSL Procurement Team
Job Responsibilities include:
- Establish and implement an Asset and Configuration Management function using best practices
- Oversee daily management of hardware and software asset information
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the asset database
- Maintain key asset details, including location, quantities, and identifiers
- Coordinate with Programme, SSL, and customer personnel to meet asset management needs
- Manage the hardware bill of materials and coordinate asset procurement
- Provide monthly performance metrics and reports to support SLAs and demonstrate asset management efficiency
- Conduct audits to verify accuracy and consistency in equipment management
- Adhere to Programme and customer constraints, including security and best practices
What we need from you:
- Experience of operating service support function(s) within an enterprise environment.
- IT Hardware and software auditing and management
- Knowledge of procurement processes
- Experience working with third party suppliers
- Inventory Management knowledge
Desirable:
- Understanding of IT hardware, software, and systems
- Experience working within SLA frameworks and monitoring KPIs
- Knowledge of ITIL Service Management processes
- Proficient in asset and configuration management tools and techniques
- Experience managing hardware and software assets in medium to large environments
