Solihull Council are looking to appoint a qualified Social worker (full-time) to join their Looked after children Team (CLA). This is an exciting time for Solihull Metropolitan council, which are striving for positive outcomes for children, young people and their families through early intervention and support.
Your new role
As a Social Worker in the Looked after Children (CLA) Team, your main duties will include: assessing the needs of children and young people who are looked after from the ages of 0 - 18.
You will have the confidence and experience to manage complex allocations, as well as navigate areas of court work relevant for children and young people who are Looked After, in order to ensure that care plans are progressed in good timescales, and this can include areas of court work around discharge of care orders.
Solihull provides robust management support and regular monthly supervision, along with regular team meetings and weekly group check-ins.You will also receive support with training and a helpful induction.
Hybrid - 2-3 days required in the office is required.
This is an essential car user role.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position you need:
- Must have 3 years post qualified experience as a Childrens Social Worker and hold a Social work qualification in either BA Social work, CQSW, DipSW, CCS or CCETSW
- Preferable experience in Children's Disability Team
- Must have completed ASYE
- Enhanced DBS check
- Car Driver
