Location: Taunton, Frome or Shepton base

Hours: Full time contract available

Who we're looking for:

Due to high demand growth in our thriving 16-19 provision the existing curriculum team are looking for an inspirational tutor of Functional Skills English and Maths to join SS&L.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our dynamic team. As a 16-19 Tutor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of young learners, fostering their academic development, and preparing them for future success. This position involves working with students aged 16 to 19, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals and achieve successful work placements which will lead to progressions into apprenticeship, work or further learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to the needs of 16-19-year-old students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the development of curriculum materials.
  • Support delivery of level 1 sector delivery (employability, Customer Service ETC)
  • Build positive relationships with local employers and review work experience.
  • Support learners to achieve success and progress onto their next step.
