1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Part-time (0.4) - Dover - £83.33-£90 per day - ASAP Start

Tradewind Recruitment are sourcing for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in a Primary School on the outskirts of Dover. This a part-time role and will be till the end of the academic year with the possibility of being extended. This position is a 1:1 role with a child with Complex ASD. There will be training and additional CPD provided too.

The school is a small split form entry school on the outskirts of Dover and is graded GOOD by Ofsted in all areas. The pupils have been observed to be a credit to the school with positive attitudes and enthusiasm for learning, with impeccable behaviour. The parents and pupils love the family ethos and everyone is familiar with each other. The school based fairly remotely and an applicant would need to be able to drive with access to a car.

The Role

  • Working as a dedicated SEN TA. This will be supporting a child in KS2 with complex ASD.
  • Providing assistance in Personal Care as well as wider curriculum need
  • Assessing students' progress and discussing development with Teachers, Parents/Carers, and external agencies if necessary.
  • Undertaking CPD if the role requires it, in which you will be accredited for.

Requirements

  • Experience working as an LSA/SEN Teaching Assistant would be highly desirable.
  • Holding a L2 or L3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be highly desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with children with SEN within an education, pastoral, or personal setting would be highly desirable
  • Either have, or be willing to get, an enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Must have right to work in the UK
