Land Transaction Manager - Solar & BESS Projects (Multiple DCOs)
London office location - but flexible on candidate location
Salary depending on candidate experience: £60,000 - 70,000
One of Piper Maddox's key clients is looking to expand their team to assist with their rapidly expanding pipeline of projects. With over 8GW in their current pipeline, multiple DCO applications progressing through, recent CfD success, as well as a highly experienced UK team, it is a perfect time to join up with the business.
Our client is one of the top IPPs in the renewable energy sector taking solar and battery storage projects right through from inception to construction/operation. You would see your project contributions come to full fruition all under one roof, with an in-house team covering land, planning, development, project design, grid engineering, and construction - you would also have in-house support from legal counsel and financing professionals.
With their pipeline of projects in the UK expanding, they are looking to add someone to the team as a Land Transaction Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that any commercial matters that arise in relation to the project land are covered from the point of suitable land being identified through to the "ready to build" stage of the project lifecycle.
Some examples of this role's responsibilities:
- Managing the closing of Option to Lease agreements - ensuring the land acquisition
process is completed smoothly.
- Undergoing applications to receive approval for the discharge of planning conditions
to secure a project's progression into the next stage of development.
- Review and inspection of commercial contracts to confirm that all land transactions
comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
This role within the team is crucial to ensuring that projects move through the development lifecycle. You would have the opportunity to contribute to the full development process and would also contribute to any legal matters relating the land piece during the construction phase.
This position would be well suited to someone with a legal background with experience handling the commercial contract law within a renewable energy project. Prior experience working within a renewable energy developer is crucial for this role - either in a legal capacity or as part of a Land Team.
If you have strong problem-solving skills and a passion for overcoming risks & project hurdles, this would be a great opportunity to join one of the most innovative companies in the UK energy space. You would be a part of a culture that thrives on collaboration and a distinct lack of micromanagement.
