Electrical maintenance engineer

Are you an electrical engineer passionate about minimising downtime and enhancing production quality? We're looking for an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team, where you'll play a vital role in planned and reactive maintenance, driving continuous improvement, and optimizing performance. This role requires expertise in maintaining machinery, equipment, and systems with a focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

**Role Highlights:

As an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer, you'll work hands-on to:

  • Diagnose faults and repair breakdowns on plant and site service equipment.
  • Perform both planned maintenance and respond to maintenance requests.
  • Ensure statutory checks and uphold Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Actively contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) and capital projects.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and manage inventory in the stores.
  • Support and mentor team members in shared maintenance initiatives.
  • Be on call for 24/7 equipment care and troubleshooting.
  • Communicate effectively during engineering meetings and shift handovers.
  • Make informed decisions aligned with site policies and customer requirements.

**What You'll Bring:

We're looking for someone with:

  • A recognized Engineering Apprenticeship (electrical, mechanical, or multiskilled) or qualifications such as ONC/BTEC/HNC.

  • Knowledge of:

  • MS Office & CMMS

  • Pneumatics, steam, and hydraulic systems

  • PLCs (Siemens S7/S5, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley), HMIs, robotics, and inverters

  • FMCG experience, ideally within the Food Industry (desirable)

  • Continuous Improvement methodologies

  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills with internal customers: Health & Safety, Quality, Production, and Management.

Key Interfaces: This role collaborates with internal stakeholders (Health & Safety, Quality, Production, Frontline, Middle, and Senior Management) and external contacts such as auditors and regulatory bodies.
