Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is searching for a Teaching Assistant who has experience working with and supporting those who have SEN or disabilities. A Warrington Primary School needs a Teaching Assistant who will work 1-1 with a Key Stage 1 child who is diagnosed with Autism.
The child needs a positive role model who will be able to keep him focused on his work and able to implement positive behaviour management strategies. This student is very active and inquisitive of the school enviornment. You will be responsible for supporting this student personally, socially and academically.
This is a long-term position for the full academic year, with the working days being Monday to Thursday.
In order to be considered for this role, you will need:
- Experience of supporting and working with individuals who display challenging behaviour
- An understadning of Autism
- To be firm, consistent and fair
- The ability to build and maintain positive relationships
The essentials:
- Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or be prepared to undertake a new disclosure (cost of DBS is refunded after working 20 days)
- A full, 10-year career history and be able to provide a minimum of 2 references
- Legal right to work in the UK
- A minimum of 2 professional references including one from your most recent employer
