Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic Arts charity that are seeking a People Partner that has extensive experience within HR Generalist roles.

As the People Partner you will have the opportunity to have involvement in the day-day recruitment, managing the central mailbox and responding to queries accordingly, involvement in projects relating to recruitment, HR systems and overall being a main point of contact within the HR team.

Salary: £200-£250/day

Contract: Temporary, ongoing.

Location: London (Hybrid) - 3x days in office/week.

Responsible To: People Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the mailbox and implementing new ideas to improve HR system.
  • Ensure all documents are uploaded in the correct form.
  • Create, develop and deliver processes, initiatives and projects to achieve objectives
  • Support, coach and give advice to line managers
  • Conduct investigations, grievance, disciplinary and complaints procedures
  • Focus on the employee experience and enhancing process for future, current colleagues
  • Find and develop talent; encouraging an entrepreneurial spirit and embracing a diversity of life experiences
  • Collaborate and work across departments and contribute to cross departmental project steering groups
  • Create and maintain documentation and reports; ensuring operations and decisions are clear and transparent
  • Use insights, data and metr ics to measure and to support decisions.
  • Possess experience of strong, up to date understanding of employment law to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive candidate and colleague experience. Delivering a transparent and inclusive recruitment and onboarding process. Including sourcing, shortlisting, interviewing and induction
  • Identify learning needs. Assist with training delivery and culture of learning, including performance review processes

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, using verbal and/or non-verbal as appropriate
  • Knowledge and application of employment law and best practice, including an awareness of diversity and inclusion
  • Effective client management/relationship management skills
  • Experience using HR information systems e.g. People XD, with ability to track, analyse and maintain data
  • Ability to create reports and present information in a clear way
  • Experience advising on people management matters, conducting investigations, grievance and disciplinary procedures.
  • Integrity and confidentiality dealing with information.
  • Emotional intelligence (EQ) with commitment to social inclusion
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions.
  • Experience of managing projects; including planning, scheduling, delivery and evaluation
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Able to demonstrate an open mindset and deep curiosity about others, listen without judgment, and seek with empathy to understand those around them
